It’s not easy to talk to others about your problems. If you’ve had to be the “strong one” in your family, you may not even want to admit that you need support. It takes a lot of courage and strength to let others in.
I enjoy working with men, whether straight, cis, trans, gay, men of color, or fathers. I have a lot of experience with male clients, particularly those who despite keeping it together for others on the outside, need to process pain and hurt without wanting to burden others.
Often, men I work with want to improve their relationship with others, have better communication, learn to have better patterns than those they saw in their families growing up, or are tired of feeling anxious or depressed and not knowing why.
I am confident we can find a way to make therapy not feel so overwhelming or daunting.
