Eating Disorders and Issues with Embodiment
Whether it is due to trauma, cultural and societal pressures, or other reasons, I help people who struggle with eating disorders, disordered eating, body image concerns, and other difficulties with embodiment - people who have a fraught relationship with their bodies and want to develop a new relationship and deeper connection with themselves.
I use a Health at Every Size (HAES) and body liberation framework. I often bring in Motivational Interviewing and Harm-Reduction into my approach.
Culture, gender, race, sexual identity, and other parts of identity impact our relationships with our bodies. It’s important to me that we include all parts of who you are in understanding your relationship with your body.
Despite living in a time in which having a better relationship with your body may seem impossible, I do believe that it is possible and I have seen people improve.
